F.A.Qs

What happens if, on the day, it is very windy or very wet?
We are usually ok with intermittent rain showers, but if the forecast looks like it will be too wet we will postpone and decide on another day for your photoshoot. If it is a windy day we may look for more sheltered locations if the wind is too strong, otherwise we can work with it, and even use it to our advantage to add some drama!

My horse doesn’t stand still!
We have experience of working with many different horses and are used to their different personalities and temperaments - this includes working with horses that rarely stand still! Not to worry, this type of photography is all about patience. We will take our time and ensure that we get the shots that we need.

Are there big scary lights and does the camera make a loud noise that my horse will be scared of? What happens if my horse doesn’t like flash?
The majority of our photography uses natural light. If we do need to use flash, we have found over the years that most horses do not even notice the flash. You may want to check this in advance by taking a photo with flash using your own point & shoot camera. Before each photoshoot we always check to see whether your horse is ok with the particular camera equipment we use. We then work slowly and carefully during the photoshoot to ensure everyone remains relaxed. If your horse is sensitive to our flash, we may opt to use a battery-powered light source instead, or will focus mainly on the naturally lit shots.

How many photographs do you take/we get?
We may take a couple of hundred images during your photoshoot, which will we later edit down and refine to provide you with a selection (between 50-100) of the very best ones.

Do your prices include travel?
Our prices include travel within 50 miles of Tring, HP23. Additional mileage is charged at 35p per mile.

Do you always have an assistant?
Not always, though we usually recommend having a friend or family member on hand on the day of the photoshoot for help with assisting you and your horse.

Do you have insurance?
Yes, we have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

What happens if you are ill/we are ill?
This has never happened to us. However in both cases, we would be happy to reorganise your photoshoot for another day.

We are based in Tring, Hertfordshire but regularly travel to Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, London, Surrey, and throughout the UK.
